KUALA LUMPUR: The frenzied clicking of cameras as Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz made her way to her usual seat at the huge circular table in the central bank’s Level 16 conference room was only matched by the frenzied clicking that accompanied the arrival minutes before her of deputy governor Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim.
Everyone, including his colleagues, probably noticed the attention that Muhammad, the most senior of the central bank’s deputy governors, got as he made his way to the seat on the immediate right of Zeti. His name has emerged as a possible successor to Zeti.
