The Star Education Fair 2008 returns for its 20th successive year on 12th and 13th January 2008 (Saturday and Sunday) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) to showcase a wide array of educational selections and services. The Fair is open to public from 11.00am to 7.00pm daily and admission is free.
The Fair, which is launched today by YB Datuk Ong Tee Keat, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Malaysia, is one of the most looked-forward-to events in Malaysia.
It is set to break past years’ record where over 170 exhibitors, from both local and foreign educational institutions all around the world, taking up about 480 booths. It is also set to be ‘Bigger and Better’ where all five (5) halls at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre have been taken up.
This year, foreign exhibitors comprising of leading educational institutions from the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Singapore and many more will showcase their wide range of courses and professional advice for the younger generation to plan their educational paths.
The Star Education Fair 2008 will provide options and opportunities for students to scout from courses ranging from diploma, certificate, degree, postgraduate, specialist courses, distance-learning/off campus programmes to twinning programmes and 3+0 foreign degree programmes to study in Malaysia and overseas all under one roof.
Students and their parents will benefit from first-hand information provided by qualified representatives from their respective educational institutions pertaining to subject entry requirements, course modules, course fees, accommodation and other relevant information.
Students seeking financial aid through scholarships can visit The Star Education Fund booth. As many as 341 scholarships valued at over RM10.3 million are offered, covering diploma, certificate, degree, postgraduate, specialist courses, distance-learning/off campus programmes to twinning programmes and 3+0 foreign degree programmes from top leading local and foreign institutions. The new partners-in-education on board this year are Rose Foundation, UK and Methodist College, KL.
To complement the exhibition and further assist students in making their choices, there will be Education and Career Talks presented by Star-Jobs. These talks will be presented by renowned and experienced speakers from the relevant professions. They will offer suggestions and enlighten students on what one may expect from their individual career choices. Some of the talks will include topics such as Studying and Working- Personal experience, ICT Related, Options after SPM, Engineering, Medicine, Funding Higher Education, Allied Health Sciences and many more.
Visitors will also stand a chance to win attractive prizes by participating in the Award & Win contest and also ICT As Career of Choice Contest organised for the first time by StarJobs and MSC Malaysia. Both contests will be held during the 2-day fair.
The Star Education Fair will also be held in Penang on 1st & 2nd March 2008 (Saturday and Sunday) at Penang International Sports Arena (PISA).
