An association for parents?

IT SEEMS that many parents are unhappy with certain teachers in their children's school or the schools' administration.

To make matters worse, parents don’t really have much power to settle any problems they are facing with the school authorities.

I suggest that a Parents Association be set up at state level so that parents can have a stronger voice.

It would be difficult at first but I think with some work, it can become a reality.

I would like to seek the help of professionals to help parents set up such an association.

Parents could achieve much through such an association. For example, the association could have a panel of lawyers to advise members so that it would be more effective.

Having a dedicated association for parents would also be useful when moral or financial support is required.

However, the most important advantage of having a Parents Association is that it would help us protect our children’s rights and seek justice on their behalf.

Past experiences have shown that when a student is accused of doing something wrong, he is normally considered guilty until proven innocent by the school authorities.

Frankly, I don’t think that parents can depend on Parent-Teacher Associations anymore.
