The students were divided into teams where they then showcased their enterprise and flair by completing four projects led by their respective leaders.

The students then presented their projects to a panel of judges from Merck, HOE Pharmaceuticals, Teikoku Printing Inks Malaysia and TOA senior lecturers Tan I-Ching and Lily Noguchi.

Meanwhile, digital animation students from the academy bagged the Best Animation Award in the recent 22nd Malaysian Film Festival held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Beating off major industry competitors, students Chin Kuan Win, Julian Chai, Collin Hee, Goh Kok Ming, Tay Fang Chyi and Yow Han Chong emerged victorious with their short film My Telatori.Team leader Kuan Win said that the twin concepts behind the film were children and imagination.
“Remember when we were young, the world was our playground and the things around us were our toys?
“In My Telatori, we wanted to portray that idea, where we tell a story about kids who want to have fun.”
According to him, team work and having a strong art sense are important in the animation field.
“In terms of art sense, we need to be able to ‘see’ whether our work is good enough and not just to produce without being able to judge the quality of our work.”
