Doing their bit for charity
THE Selangor Cheshire Home in Batu Caves, Selangor was given a spruce up recently, thanks to a group of finance graduates.
The 78 participants of the Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (Fstep) re-painted part of the home, cleaned its surroundings and added some plants to its garden. The home looks after about 50 residents who are permanently disabled.
Fstep participant Goh Lee Lian, 23, is glad that she could do her part in helping the disabled at the home.
“We must have the spirit to help others in need,” she said.
The participants hard at work for a worthy cause. Amar Hakim Zabarni, 23, said the visit to the home had strengthened the cooperation and team spirit among the participants.
Fstep is a one-year intensive programme with the objective of training and preparing high calibre graduates for the financial services industry.
The modules provide graduates with technical knowledge in conventional, investment and Islamic banking systems, as well as insurance and Takaful.
It also includes personal development programmes.
