Early start for SPM students
MORE than 450,000 candidates all over the country are sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), which began on Tuesday and will end on Dec 20.
Many of these students are aiming for a high number of A’s in order to obtain scholarships to further their studies. With competition for scholarships becoming stiffer, the students’ results could determine whether or not he/she manages to obtain funding for further education.
Parents, if you have children who are in Form Four, tackle the competition by signing them up for the StarEducation pre-SPM workshops.
The workshops will be held at SEGi University College, Petaling Jaya on Dec 11 and 12. Students can sign up for either one of the workshops or for both.
Workshop 1, which will be conducted by Mr Sunny Yee, writer of Success in SPM Additional Maths & Physics, will cover the science subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Add Maths.
Workshop 2 will consist of the arts subjects – BM, English, Maths and Science. The four different subjects will be conducted by award-winning teachers, En Abdul Ghalib Yunus, Mr Rajan Nair, Mr Morthy Gopal and Ms Nithya respectively.
The workshop speakers, all of whom have had at least 15 years in their respective fields, will deliver techniques on answering questions, as well as teach students how to apply facts and formulae that they’ve learned. Students will also be given the opportunity to explore critical thinking questions and analyse questions from previous years.
Each workshop costs RM100. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and spaces are limited, so sign up fast!
For more information on the workshops, call 03-7957 7641 ext 1236/1239 (10am to 5pm, weekdays only).
