Scholarships

THE Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (KLSCCCI) University/College Scholarship Fund invites applications from Malaysians who are pursuing a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course in Malaysia or abroad. Application forms can be collected from the Secretariat or downloaded at

Art competition

THE Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) Nationwide Art & Design Competition will be awarding 13 scholarships worth more than RM250,000 to the winners. The competition is open to secondary school students (Forms Four to Six) and Chinese high school students (Senior Middle One to Three). The topics are “My Future Aspiration”, “World Peace” and “Nostalgic Reflection”. Interested students may submit their artwork by May 17. The finals will be held on June 8 at the MIA campus. Treasure hunt

THE Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) University College School of Arts and Science Alumni Society is organising a Treasure Hunt on June 8. The event is open to all alumni, staff and students. The hunt will begin at TAR University College KL main campus at 9.30am and end at Carey Island at 5pm. Manga award

THE Embassy of Japan is calling for entries for the seventh International Manga Award. Deserving cartoonists will have the opportunity to attend the award ceremony in Japan next year. All entries must be sent in by May 15 to the Embassy of Japan or by May 31 to the International Manga Award Executive Committee. Submission guidelines and entry forms can be downloaded at

Musical afternoon

THE Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) University College Alumni Association, together with TAR University College, will be jointly organising the Love TAR University College Musical Afternoon: “The Moon Speaks for my Heart”. Film screening

THREE short films and a theatre performance will be screened at Sunway University’s Roof Top Theatre from May 24 to May 26.
