Rain expected, so vote early

PETALING JAYA: Voters are advised to cast their ballots early today as scattered thunderstorms have been forecasted in most parts of the peninsula in the afternoon.

The Meteorological Services Department said there would be scattered thunderstorms in west Johor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Selangor, Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis.

In Sabah, there would be isolated thunderstorms in Kudat, Labuan, Sandakan and interior areas in the afternoon, it said in a statement, adding that Limbang, Miri, Sibu, Sarikei, Sri Aman, Kuching, Samarahan and Betong in Sarawak would also be affected.

The Pahang government and agencies are prepared for all eventualities, including rain, for today’s polls, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob said.

“Come rain or shine, voters must go out and cast their ballots,” he said yesterday.
