I BOUGHT an air freshener from a petty trader near my house. The English on the packet (see above) is full of grammatical errors. – Y.T. Lim, Kuala Lumpur
'On the air’, not ‘on air
RADIO announcers of yesteryears would say, “Hello, you are now on the air” but our current DJs say, “ You are now on air”. Is there any particular reason for this change?
And do we now say “Love is in air” instead of “Love is in the air” then? – Belallang
Ed: Of course you can’t say “You are now on air.” It has to be “on the air”. Same with “Love is in the air”.
