A wellknown corporate figure in Sabah is to be charged with graft on Monday. The 35-year-old woman is alleged to have offered RM8,000 to a Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry officer as inducement to refrain from taking further action against her.
Kidnapped girl was not intended victim
A 13-year-old schoolgirl who was abducted and released after her family paid a ransom of RM80,000 recently was the kidnappers' secondary target. The primary target was the girl's elder sister, who had earlier given them the slip.
