Cebu tournament
The fast-growing Asian Development Tour (ADT) will welcome the US$60,000 Aboitiz Invitational presented by ICTSI in Cebu, Philippines, for the second season this August.
The Aboitiz Invitational will bolster a strong line-up of tournaments in the ADT’s Order of Merit race where the top-three finishers at the end of the season will earn playing rights on the Asian Tour in 2013.
Local hero Jay Bayron will defend the title at Cebu Golf & Country Club from Aug 6-9.
This latest confiormation will increase the ADT’s schedule to a record 13 events this season as the region’s feeder circuit travel to Indonesia, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei and Singapore.
“The Philippine Golf Tour (PGT) is pleased to work closely once again with the ADT to promote the game of golf in the region and put Cebu on the golfing map,” said Pilipinas Golf Tournaments general manager Colo Ventosa.
Asian Tour executive chairman Kyi Hla Han said he was thrilled with the positive growth of the ADT since its inauguration in 2010.
“These are exciting times and it is through the ADT that we hope to unearth new stars. It is wonderful that the ADT has grown so much since our launch two years ago and I believe we will continue to develop significantly in the years to come.’
