ONE of the latest top 10 must-haves in Hollywood is N.V. Perricone M.D.'s Facial Conformer, touted by many celebrities as "the facelift in a bottle". It addresses skin concerns such as lines, wrinkles, loss of skin tone and firmness.
Contained within the formula are neuropeptides, tiny strings of amino acids that act as sophisticated messengers to turn on cellular activity resulting in skin that is said to be firmer, smoother, more even in colour with an overall youthful resilience.
It also has DMAE (dimethl-amino-ethanol) that gives benefits of increased tone with continued use. What's mind-boggling is the price tag of RM3,095 (60ml) which the makers say is justified because of the high cost of developing raw neuropeptides.
To complement the moisturiser, the Facial Serum Prep (RM950) is recommended as it's supposed to act as a toner that prepares the skin to better receive the benefits of neuropeptides and other Dr Perricone formulas.
For the windows to your soul, the Eye Area Contour is said to provide revolutionary benefits in the appearance of firmer, more toned skin around the eye area. It also claims to reduce discolouration and puffiness and minimise lines and wrinkles. For this little treasure, it's an investment of RM1,060 for 15ml.
Dr Perricone is a clinical and research dermatologist who has dozens of US and international patent claims that apply to the treatment of skin and systemic diseases. He has also authored a number of books on nutrition and anti-ageing.
International trainer, Fabienne Brigaud from New York will be holding a workshop on April 26 at Escentials, Tangs Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur, to give advice on Dr Perricone’s anti-ageing philosophies. For reservations, call tel: 03-2148 7009.
Legendary white
White, the essence of Chanel foundation, became legendary with Gabrielle Chanel's very first designs and in 1985, it became the iconic standard of Chanel make-up.
For spring 2008, Blanc De Chanel culminates in a Sheer Illuminator Fluid after two decades of innovation. It acts as a light source on the surface of the skin where it is seemingly lit from within. Blemishes are smoothed over and skin hydration boosted.

The formula is also enriched with brown algae derivative touted to have energising properties.
The accompanying Poudre Cristalline combines the most recent generation of translucent powders for an ultra-fine finish resulting in a flawless glowing complexion.
Immortal essence
L'OCCITANE introduces its new Brightening skincare, a complete anti-ageing range that is an expansion of the Immortelle skincare line. The Brightening series is said to even out skin tone and offer more luminous complexion, thanks to its key active ingredient, the organic Immortelle flower. Its essential oil is claimed to be a potent anti-ageing solution said to promote synthesis, stimulate skin microcirculation and boost cell renewal.
The Brightening Renewing Serum is claimed to help reduce pigmentation and regulate melanin production. The Brightening Smoothing Exfoliator contains mulberry extract which is said to help diminish imperfections and brighten complexion while the alcohol-free Brightening Toner makes the skin feel refreshed, clean, soft and comfortable. It also has spring water to help skin maintain optimal moisture levels and a vitamin C derivative combined with a raspberry extract, for their radiance-enhancing properties.
Minerals make-up
IF YOU dread liquid foundation because you think it's messy and might clog up pores, the new mineral powder foundation that "respects your skin" from L'Oreal might change your mindset. It provides excellent coverage and will not clog pores, and protects from UV rays.
L'Oreal Paris True Match Minerals is the brand's first ever mineral powder foundation that contains 95% minerals. It is fragrance and preservative-free. Thanks to its natural and skin-friendly ingredients, it can be used even on sensitive and imperfection-prone skin.
The product contains natural mineral pigments to protect, beautify and light up the complexion. They are said to match skin tone perfectly in a blend of matt and light-reflecting particles to give perfect, feather-light coverage.
The minerals have multiple benefits: silicate is anti-shine, titanium dioxide acts as a UV filter, boron nitrate helps to achieve a luminous complex, zinc oxide soothes skin while, iron oxide masks imperfections.
