Today & tomorrow: Here’s your last chance to catch the Hands Percussion ensemble in performance. The show is like an avenue of dreams for HANDS members.
Regardless of quirkiness, being flashy or breaking with tradition, and despite criticism, these are the mini-movies which have been playing in their minds.

Nov 24-29: Reknowned playwright, raconteur, actor, aspiring balloon-boy and lover, Jit Murad takes the stage and the house hostage to foist anecdotal musings on love, life, toothpaste and a whole lot of bull.
Come and catch this award-winning playwright in one of his rare live performances. All proceeds from the Nov 24 show go to Nur Salam Children’s Home Chow Kit. Ticket prices start from RM45.

Till Dec 13: This art exhibition features works by Zainal Abidin Musa and his buddies Suhaimi A. Wahab and Tuan Azhar.
Although their journeys across continents and time have taken them apart, we can observe in their latest works their common divergence from the trends of the contemporary art scene.
As a result, Lautan Tiga is a convergence of the highly personal creative expressions of the artists, who paint with joy, passion and honesty.

PET lifestyle magazine Petster will be hosting the Cutie Pet Fair
Nov 21 & 22: Besides more than 30 commercial exhibitor booths, the fair will also highlight the work done by animal welfare and rights organisations such as the Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better canine welfare project, AnimalCare, the World Wild Life Fund (WWF), PAWS Animal Welfare Society and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
Puppies, dogs, cats and kittens will also be available for adoption at the event. Those attending the fair will also be able to enjoy a variety of games. Prizes worth about RM5,000 will be given away to winners. Proceeds from the games will go towards charity.

RED CARNIVAL — WORLD AIDS DAY 2009
Nov 28-29: In conjunction with World Aids Day on Dec 1 with the theme “I Am”, a carnival will be held.
Over two days, 80 performers such as Dina, Deborah Henry, Azah and Will Quah will entertain the crowds while over 200 volunteers will distribute HIV information, red ribbons and other merchandise to the public.
The event is in partnership with WHO, International Planning Parenthood Federation and The Embassy of Finland.
Time: 11am to 7pm on Nov 28 and till 8pm on Nov 29.

BASIC DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE
Nov 28: Digital cameras have made photography a breeze in today’s world, but while they are easy and convenient to use, the results are not always what you expect.
Learn the finer points in this workshop conducted by Kid Chan. All participants are required to bring along with them their digital cameras, be it a digital SLR camera or a digital point-and-shoot camera with manual mode, and lots of enthusiasm to learn.

Caving Trip to Gua Kanthan
& Gua Kelawar, Perak
Dec 5-6: The Malaysian Nature Society will be organising a trip to two caves in Perak. The first is Gua Kanthan (a.k.a. Cathedral Cave) where beautiful rays of sunlight beam down from the high ceiling of the cave. The second cave, Gua Kelawar is relatively unknown to the public and is found deep in a palm plantation.
Cost: RM170 per person, which includes guides, accommodation and personal insurance.

WEEKEND JAPANESE FILM “LIKE ASURA”
Today: Directed by Morita Yoshimitsu, the story revolves around four sisters in the Takezawa family who gather for the first time in a long while upon learning their father has a mistress and a love child.
The quartet decides against letting their mother, Fuji, know about it and take advantage of the gathering to bond with each other by sharing their problems. Time: 3pm.
