To counter uneven skin tone marked with pigmentation or discoloration caused by excessive melanin production, Thalgo’s new melanin fighter is supposed to work from within the skin to inhibit the entire melanogenesis process.
The Clear Complex Treatment contains active ingredients derived from red algae and two plant extracts, licorice and daisy.
Used together with other complementary active ingredients within the programme, the skin is given a boost, and touted to be strengthened, hydrated and the complexion firmed.
To banish pore-clogging debris, and smooth out pores and inflammatory blemishes, Beta Hydroxide ACSD, an exfoliating ingredient derived from acacia is used.
It also has Bioecolia, an active eco-boosting ingredient that is said to preserve the skin’s biological balance. Other ingredients help increase the skin’s level of collagen, effectively strengthening and improving skin elasticity.
Radiance-boosting shea, mango butter and other natural moisturising ingredients nourish the skin to smooth out lines and fill wrinkles.
Pampering: During the Brightening Facial by Thalgo, a mask is applied to rejuvenate and brighten the skin. The key products in the brightening programme are the Exfoliating Lotion, Brightening Regulating Essence, Smoothing Brightening Fluid, Melt-in Smoothing Brightening Cream and Unizones Clearing Corrector.
The Exfoliating Lotion is the first step in rejuvenating skin, sloughing away dead cells and preparing the skin to absorb the goodness of the subsequent skincare rituals.
The Essence is a skin-perfecting asset that melts into the skin to lighten and fade pigmentation, to provide smoother skin tone.
The Fluid has collagen-boosting and lightening properties that bring out skin’s youthful luminosity and suppleness while the Brightening Cream is ideal for dry skin as it seeps into skin, dissolving pigmented spots and boosting collagen production.
Last but not least is the Unizones Clearing Corrector, claimed to fade dark spots and brighten complexion more evenly.
The facial takes about two hours, and includes cranial, hand and foot massages as well.
The therapist takes pampering one step further by also applying brightening products on the arms to tackle dehydration and pigmentation.
