Bags fit for royalty
ANNICK Goutal has joined hands with Yayasan Tuanku Nur Zahirah to put together 200 sets of its scents and creams in two elegant bags made of songket. These will be sold at the Songket Ball in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
The first set, named Fit for a Queen, contains the French brand’s latest scent, Un Matin D’Orage, and body cream. The second, Queentessential, has an Un Matin D’Orage roller ball and two body creams.
The songket toiletry bags are designed by Poppy of Bagatelle in either brown or yellow, with butterfly motifs embroidered in gold thread.
Ken Lim, managing director of Esplanade Avenue Sdn Bhd, the distributor of Annick Goutal in Malaysia, says the money raised from the sale of all the sets will go to the foundation to help revive the songket industry and make the fabric relevant to modern times.
He hopes to raise RM105,000.
