A new footwear brand is all about flexibility, and encourages men to have fun.
ANTTON & CO is the brainchild of a group of young entrepreneurs, who, through their travels and experience, decided to formulate a brand for men who live the international lifestyle.
The shoes are designed to capture the life, passion and soul of Spain, inspired mostly by the confident, yet laid-back and sensual approach to living life – the Spanish La Vida.
Strut in style: Take your pick, from the varied choices of footwear available at Antton & Co. Established in 1998, the collective had its start in producing shoes for other labels, but in 2005, Antton & Co was created as their own in-house project.
The main objective behind the footwear, says the collective, is to provide shoe lovers around the world with handsomely made shoes that heighten the first impression of the wearer, and at the same time, inject the vibrant Catalan energy and sensuality into the designs.
“We make shoes that are about a great first impression that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. It’s also about giving the Antton & Co guy a fashion uplift without turning him into a fashion victim,” says a spokesman for the group.
What they aim to do is to create shoes that are practical and easy to wear, but tweaked with points of interest to keep it on trend, so that the shoes are not rendered outdated once the season is over.
For its latest collection, Antton & Co presents a flirtatious theme; it’s about having fun and being ready to mingle.
It is hoped that interesting details on the shoes would encourage conversations and action. Since the modern man is an everywhere man, the shoes are designed to be extremely versatile – dressy looks are cool enough for work all the way to dinner dates, while casual looks are relaxed enough for a movie, but still suitable for a night out dancing.
It is a story of colours, offering a subtle but confident clash of opposites to create styles that are fun and trendy, without overpowering the wearer. For the sporty, colour accents such as mustard and red are colour-blocked with muted neutrals.
Colour blocking – with shades of powdery teal and red wine – are paired with navy blues and greys in the boat shoes collection. Pair any of these shoes with a nice pair of jeans, and he is good to go.
With this idea in mind, shoes are designed using a combination of lush leathers and textures. There is the usual velvety suede and supple sheepskin.
Traditional looks such as wingtips are given a modernist spin with clean lines, slimmer silhouette and a more contemporary appeal. These shoes will look sharp at work, but also fantastic dressed down with a pair of jeans.
Priced from RM299 to RM359, Antton & Co is available from Oct 5 at the multi-brand Transmarco store in Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur.
