Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign has scaled great heights
AFTER 20 years of serving women worldwide, the Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign has scaled great heights.
> 115 million Pink Ribbons have been distributed worldwide.
> 38 global historical landmarks were lit up within 24 hours, as part of the Global Landmark Illuminations Initiative in 2010. It garnered the campaign the first-ever Guinness World Record for “Most Landmarks Illuminated for a Cause in 24 Hours”.
> 70 – That’s how many countries the BCA is active in today.
> US$35mil (RM107mil) has been raised.
> 140 Breast Cancer Research Foundation grants were given out for medical research.
> 186 researchers are supported by the research foundation; they come from the United States, Australia, Canada, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe.
> US$36.5mil (RM112mil) were awarded to 187 scientists across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and China in 2011 and this year.
> 13 research grants were given out in 2012.
> 16 – That’s the number of years Estee Lauder Companies Malaysia has been advocating the BCA campaign.
> RM2.75mil was raised by the Estee Lauder Companies Malaysia since 1996.
