Menswear brand Topman celebrates all things British with a range of T-shirts.

TO celebrate homegrown British talent, Topman has launched a T-shirt collection which epitomises all things British.

Participating designers were asked to create a T-shirt designed around the title Menswear Rules Britannia. Their take on this theme was then produced on premium white roll-sleeved cotton T.

“With these limited editions Ts, Topman joins in the great British summer celebrations with a language uniquely its own.

“Committed to supporting the best British designers through our ‘New Gen Men’ initiative, these exclusive print Ts will endure,” said Topman design director Gordon Richardson in a press release.

The design from Sibling is in the synonymously British colours of red, white and blue.

The NewGen Men designers are:

> Katie Eary: Describing herself as a true British patriot, Eary explained that Menswear Rules Britannia means everything to her. She thinks her design sums this up perfectly. The print is derived from two of her favourite things, the screaming cheetah (she loves anything from the feline family) and British military – in this case, a Queen’s guards hat.

> Lou Dalton: Dalton commissioned Alex Walker to hand draw faces of British icons for her quirky design. Sketches include Elton John, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, all whom have influenced British popular culture over the years.

> Sibling: The newly-recruited NewGen Men collective Sibling (Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery) designed a print that is reminiscent of a souvenir from a weekend away or a fun day out. It is a knitted twist on a celebratory English memento of youthful camaraderie, synonymous with the British colours of red, white and blue.

> Christopher Shannon: Renowned for reworking sportswear, Shannon has designed a T-shirt using his trademark all-over print design. This design features a “Man up!” slogan.

> James Long: On close inspection, you can see that Long has subtly worked the Union Jack flag into his print.

Priced from RM99, this T-shirt range will be available at Topman stores in Mid Valley Megamall, KL and Suria KLCC starting tomorrow.
