The right luggage


THEY say life is a journey but it seems these days it’s more literal. Our daily lives, especially for those working in the urban sprawl, seem to be one journey after another. So it’s quite important to have the right accessory for the trip, and this includes having the right luggage.

For Fall 2012, Tumi looks at those trips based on each individual’s needs, wants and style. And you are spoilt for choice from their many lines.

From Alpha Bravo, there are new colours in the mix including anthracite and hickory. Four styles are introduced that takes you from the office to weekend getaways, and anywhere in between: a duffel, backpack, utility tote and a brief. Key existing styles are re-interpreted in a sturdy new fabric.

Arrivé, a premium collection for travel and business, combines contemporary refinement with functionality and advanced technology. For a more diverse audience, a new chianti colour will be introduced.

In the corporate world, there is a desire for more streamlined silhouettes, and here is where the Tegel slim portfolio comes along.

Under Bedford, there are classic casual styles like the Holmes Large Brief Pack or an oversized flap satchel re-invented in luxe materials such as the Stamford weekender.

Beacon Hill gives an all-leather look, perfect for business such as the Charles portfolio with a flap closure that securely holds your documents while adding a touch of hardware to this supple style. If being hands free is what you want, the Brimmer backpack is a more plush option acceptable for both a business meeting and leisurely endeavours.

For longer travel, Vapor has an expanded selection of shades for its hard-sided lightweight cases including chianti, peacock, brown, spruce and a geometric energy print.

The casual lightweight Voyageur collection will have the Super Leger Carry-On, Quintessential Tote and Cortina Boarding Tote in the seasonal palette of poppy, peacock, slate grey and energy print. There are even new styles to cater for laptops and tablets.

The Villa line sees a re-design that reduces weight by 30% and in rich chianti colours. Meanwhile, the Andria compact crossbody now has designated space for your iPad.

For business matters with a traditional approach, the Georgetown line is the solution for the professional female. An assortment of briefs, totes and travel cases are made over in a rich caramel colour. And the signature ballistic nylon is embossed with leather accents.

From Boulevard, comes the classic tote in both magazine and classic styles in a variety of colours. It can be worn either over the shoulder or carried by hand. S.S. Yoga
