SEPT 14-16: 20 By Two is a collaboration between Malaysian and South-East Asian fashion portal Tongue in Chic and Singaporean social publishing platform FashionSpace. The event will showcase the debut Fall/Winter 2012 collections of 18 well-known and emerging fashion brands from Malaysia and Singapore. Designs will be available for purchase at the event, as well as online at 20bytwo.com. Admission: Free. Time: 4-10pm (Sept 14) and 10am-10pm (Sept 15 and 16).

SEPT 23: Pusat Majudiri Y for The Deaf is organising the International Deaf Day Celebration & Deaf Awareness Exhibition to increase public awareness of the deaf and their impact on society. Activities include the “Journey into the Deaf World” simulation for people to understand the life of the deaf. Admission: Free. Time: 9am-5pm
SEPT 18-23: Since 2009, World Bamboo Day has been celebrated officially around the world on Sept 18. Activities at this week-long event are family-friendly, with forums, seminars, bamboo shoot-based cooking demos, colouring contests, and even a competition for bamboo furniture designs. Admission is free. Time: 10am onwards.

TILL 30 SEPT: SStwo Mall will be kicking of f its annual Mid-Autumn celebration on Sept 15 with a Lunar Lantern Light Up countdown. There will be lantern-maki ng sessions on Saturdays, and an interactive lantern walk based on the theme “Legends of the Moon” on Sept 30. Admission is free.

SEPT 19 AND 21: The Comedy Club KL features two well-k nown Britain-based comedians – Can adian Pete Johansson, who has performed with Russell Peters; and Aussie Ro Campbell, who was crowned Scottish Comedian Of The Year 2010; as well as Malaysia’s own Jason Leong. Shows will be at The Bee on Sept 19, and at The Stage on Sept 21. Tickets: RM63, includes one drink. Time: 8.30pm.

SEPT 16: The Penang Metropolitan Aerobics and Fitness Association National Health Promotions Board presents an aerobics workout and walkathon in conjunction with Merdeka and Malaysia Day. Entrance is free. Time: 8am to 11.30am.
SEPT 14: Catch an informal evening of dance at Aswara presented by Alliance Francaise. French dancer Mic Guilaumes and French singer Anne Laure Poulain conducted a workshop for Aswara dancers, and their collaborations will be presented here. SEPT 29 (Kuantan) AND OCT 13 (KL): Three of Malaysia’s legendary entertainers – Datuk Dr Ahmad Nawab, Jamal Abdillah and Datuk Khadijah Ibrahim – will be holding a concert in Pahang and Kuala Lumpur called Konsert Ge milang. SEPT 29 AND 30: Tickets are now available for this special concert by The Young Sparklers featuring 10 children aged between eight and 14 from the K lang Valley. The first show on Sept 29 (8pm) is a choir performance, while the second show on Sept 30 (3pm) features the solo performances of 13-year-old soprano Shi Hui and 14-year-old tenor Lin Rui. SEPT 15-OCT 6: Malaysian photographer, Eiffel Chong, presents two bodies of work – A Matter Of Life And Death and A Fragile Thing Called Man, sharing his obsessions with mortality and human excess by using landscape and objects to create an ominous vision of society. Opening hours: 11am-7pm (Mon-Fri), 12-6pm (Sat).
TILL SEPT 16: The G13 Gallery invites you to experience the documentation of a visual journey called Silent Diary by emerging artist Faizal Suhif. This drawing, painting and installation exhibition comes from his residency period in Bali, Indonesia. Admission: Free. Time: 9am-7pm.
