Give them a voice
YOUR story Beacons Of Hope (Star2, Dec 31, 2012) was really heart-tugging. It saddens me to think that there are so many children who wish to go to school but cannot due to lack of resources and circumstances. Even worse is when I see students here wasting their time and parents’ money by playing truant or sleeping in class. (I’m a private educator, so I see this all the time).
It would be good if we were instructed on how to help these needy individuals. Some people are wary of contributing to charities as there is no way of knowing if the money ever reaches those in need. But thank you for your story and please continue to give a voice to those children.
