First Lotus showroom makes its debut
GOOD news for Lotus owners and fans. The first Lotus flagship showroom in Malaysia is now open for business.
At the same time, there’s more reason to drop by the place, as Lotus has launched the new Exige S and Elise S in conjunction with the showroom opening last Tuesday by former Prime Minister and Proton adviser Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The flagship showroom in Sungai Penchala, Kuala Lumpur, offers the full works to give potential customers the Lotus experience. It houses not just a stylish display area for Lotus models but also retail areas for Lotus car accessories , original merchandise, a delivery bay, open deck garden and customers’ lounge.
Apart from the showroom, the Lotus joint has a customer interactive block and a service/parts centre that can cater to 20 cars a day and 480 cars a month.
The showroom itself spans 1,060 sqm and comprises sales areas for new and pre-owned Lotus cars.
Two new models are showcased – the Exige S is longer and wider than the Elise S and is available in two bodystyles – a RM452,030 Roadster version and the RM462,230 Coupe version. The new Elise S Coupe is priced from RM332,300.
The prices are inclusive of three-year or 100,000km manufacturer’s warranty, whichever comes first.
Both models use a mid-mounted supercharged engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox with sports ratios.
The Exige S has a 3.5-litre V6 engine fitted that has peak torque of 400Nm at 4,500rpm and 345hp at 7,000rpm. It goes from 0 to 100kph in 3.9s and hits a top speed of 274kph.
The Elise S uses a 1.8-litre inline 4-cylinder engine, which produces peak power of 217hp at 6,800rpm and 250Nm of torque at 4,600rpm. The 0 to 100kph sprint is achieved in 4.6s, and the car is capable of a 234kph.
