The local department store’s Spring Splendour 2013 collection aims to exude elegance and sophistication.

Its in-house label, East india Company – described as a lifestyle brand with casual designs for travellers – goes Orient Mystic this season.

The range is inspired by the intricate motifs and patterns on Chinese porcelain, cherry blossoms and mystical characteristics of the Orient, mixing contemporary with traditional Eastern details while maintaining its lines of linen, cotton and chiffon brocades.

Mandarin collars and frog buttons adorn the apparel, while the colour palette offers blossom pink, mandarin orange, wine red of peonies and the down-to-earth tones of brown and green. Prices range from RM39.90 to RM229.

Somerset Bay, with its theme Pink Rubies, welcomes spring with a collection of embroidered blouses and qipao adorned with floral and oriental details.

The young and contemporary label – inspired by vintage elements and homespun aesthetics – features pink and purple as pivotal shades, combined with fuchsia, rose and carmine. Hints of vintage ivory and dusted pearls add contrast to the collection.

Meanwhile, Passages – with its east-meet-west fusion concept – has a range entitled Roots Of Nanyang.

The collection is inspired by the lifestyle of early Chinese settlements in the 30s. Simple yet intricate embroidery adorns relaxed silhouettes of linen, cotton and fine voile. Its colour palette includes beige, metal brown, red lantern and deep mandarin. Prices range from RM99.90 to RM159.90.

With its theme Pure Style, Emanuelle’s Spring collection comprises pleats, draping and craftsmanship. Easy-to-wear sensual styles in fluid jerseys and soft voiles punctuate a season filled with traditional fits.

Colours for the Spanish-influenced label are beige, brilliant red, metal, brown and purple. Prices begin from RM99.90 to RM159.90.

Last but not least, Cape Cod – the lifestyle brand with a carefree spirit – goes nautical this season. Casual, wearable outfits for all occasions come in vibrant reds, blues and white. Prices start from RM39.90 to RM139.90.
