The latest night cream by an American skincare brand claims to be the total solution to your anti-ageing needs.
ONE of the best approaches to ageing is to tackle the issue early. It helps if you were to keep skin healthy and young-looking with proper hydration.
“I want to emphasise that hydration is still the key to good skin. My recommendation is to always practise proper hydration and cleansing at a young age. Then as we age, we need products with more oomph!” said Bill Colli, senior vice president of global sales and marketing at H2O Plus.
“These days, younger consumers are looking for anti-ageing products at an earlier age to prevent wrinkles and fine lines,” he added.
Combining its strong heritage as a marine-based skincare with new active ingredients, the brand released its latest night cream recently.
Total Source Night Cream is the first product in the new Total Source range. Touted as its miracle product, the formula claims to provide advanced repair for the top five concerns of women with ageing skin – wrinkles, brightness, protection, nourishment and firmness.
The product is the first one that combines H2O Plus’ established sea-based ingredients with technology and ingredients from its new parent company, Pola Orbis Labs in Yokohama, Japan.
Pearl protein, rich in amino acids and minerals, are put together to promote cell regeneration to help increase skin smoothness, resilience, hydration and radiance.
Japanese seaweed extract is another ingredient found in the cream believed to increase firmness, smoothness and restore moisture balance.
The star ingredient is yarrow extract, a plant ingredient said to offer brightening effects for dark spot correction.
“Yarrow extract is our proprietary ingredient with skin brightening and dark spot correction benefits. With this cream, age spots are not only reduced but also prevented from forming,” claimed Colli.
Rooibos extract provides anti-oxidant and potent enzymes to help reduce wrinkles by neutralising free radicals. Chestnut rose extract is also part of the formula and helps to combat loss of elasticity by stimulating collagen and elastin production.
Other active ingredients in the cream include cladosiphon okamuranus extract, a sea-derived ingredient, said to improve firmness and elasticity, and rosa roxburghii fruit extract, believed to fight degradation of elastin while stimulating its production and inhibiting glycation.
“Our target market for this cream are women aged 35 and above who would like to try out new products and technologies in the market. They are discerning consumers and always looking for better products even though they may not need skin correction or repair,” added Colli.
The night cream also boasts a time-release gel matrix technology, a gel encapsulation carrier system that is touted to dissolve and slowly release hydrating and anti-ageing active ingredients into the dermis only after application.
This technology is said to allow more efficient penetration and delivery of active ingredients, while ensuring slow and steady release across the layers of the epidermis.
After four weeks of application, clinical results revealed that 92% of women showed increase in hydration, 71% an improvement in brightness and radiance with a reduction in skin discoloration and dullness, 72% observed more firmness and 67% showed improved elasticity.
The night cream does not leave a sticky feeling and absorbs quite easily into skin. Smooth over cleansed and toned face and neck nightly. n Total Source Night Cream is priced at RM329 (50ml) and is so far the highest-priced product from H2O Plus. It is available exclusively through the company’s retail stores and online at h2oplus.com.my.
