Helping SIS
How to volunteer with SIS?
Go to Sisters in Islam website (sistersinis lam.org.my) and download the volunteer form. Fill it and e-mail it back to them at sistersinislam@pd.jaring.my.
What is SIS looking for?
Anyone who is interested to learn about the issues that SIS works on or just wants to get to know the organisation. It doesn’t matter what type of skills you can provide as they have a wide range of activities, which fits most people.
Who can volunteer?
Syariah practitioners and those with knowledge of syariah, and law students. Graphic designers, illustrators, anyone interested in working in communications, editors, writers, and even poets, are welcome.
Is training provided?
For most volunteers, there is an orientation session as an introduction to SIS and the women’s NGO network. Following which it depends on the volunteer’s interest. For example, someone who is interested in manning the Telenisa helpline would undergo additional training.
