WESAK DAY CELEBRATIONS
Wesak Day celebrations at the Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple off Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya, begins on May 3 with morning chantings at 6.15am followed by paritta chanting and procession. On May 4, a food fair will be held from 5pm while paritta chanting begins at 8.30pm followed by a discourse on dhamma and a procession. On Wesak Day, special blessings for devotees by the Sangha venerables and senior monks from Thailand will be held from 8am to 10am. The food fair will begin at 8.30am. The Tak Bart ceremony starts at 11am while the Phapa offering and presentation of saffron robes will be held at 5.30pm. paritta chanting will commence at 8pm followed by a candlelight procession of the Lord Buddha on a chariot around the temple compound. CHARITY CONCERT
Catholic High School PJ will be holding An Evening of Music 2012 with the theme Celebration on April 28 at its Brother Philippe Wu School Hall. WESAK PROGRAMMES
The Bandar Utama Buddhist Society is hosting over 40 monks from various branches of the Ajahn Chan monasteries and will be holding two programmes today and Friday. There will be dana at 9am on both days, followed by paritta chanting and a dhamma talk today evening as well. For details, contact Tan Buck Soon (012-200 8883) or Chee Wat (016-313 3628).
ART BAZAAR
Publika’s Fuyoh Art Bazaar (FAB) will take place on Sunday from 10am to 6pm, with more than 80 vendors as well as buskers, art jamming, craft workshops and talks. Early birds can enjoy Wheelie Sundays, whereby Publika closes its inner streets to vehicles and rents bikes and tricycles for free from 7am-10am.
