MALACCA: A 27-year-old passenger broke his leg after an express bus collided with a trailer at the 188.9km of the North South Expressway at about 2.30am on Tuesday.
Acting Jasin District Traffic Police Chief Inspector Mohd Shuluh Azmil said the accident occurred when the bus was heading to Johor Baru from Taiping.
The bus rammed into the back of a trailer, which was travelling slowly on a steep slope, he said.
There were 26 passengers in the bus when the accident occurred, with 22 of them suffering light injuries and one having a broken leg.
Wan Eduwan Wan Mahamood, who broke his leg, was admitted at Malacca Hospital.
I was asleep when I suddenly heard a loud bang. I realised my left leg was stuck, he said.
Wan Eduwan said he was returning to Johor after attending his fiancées sisters wedding in Taiping.
Normally, I drive, but this is the first and last time I will travel by express bus, he said.
