Bigger break fast crowd in 2nd week

LIKE every other year, the Ramadan buffet at Paya Serai in Petaling Jaya Hilton is the most talked about.
It tantalises the taste buds with local delights and more.

Abdul Aziz said there were about 800 people who came for the Ramadan buffet last year.
“We expect the crowd to increase in the second and third week of Ramadan. During the first week, many Muslims will break fast with their family members at home,” he said.

Recommended among the main dishes are Rendang Tok Perak, Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Padi, Roasted Whole Venison, Ikan Sembilang Goreng Berlada and Udang Sambal Petai.
Traditional dishes for appetisers are Kerabu Perut Sapi, Kerabu Daun Selom, Kerabu Kacang Botol, Kerabu Mangga Muda, Kerabu Ayam Nenas, Kerabu Taugeh and Acar Rampai while bazaar favourites such as Popiah Basah, Tauhu Sumbat, Otak Otak andnoodles like Assam Laksa, Mee Rebus, Mee Kari, Mee Bandung and Laksa Johor are also available.
Nasi Ulam, a traditional dish among the northern states, is rice blended with salted fish and added with serai and ulam to bring out the flavour and aroma.
The dessert selection has live cooking stations serving assorted Putu Mayam, Putu Piring, Apam Balik, Roti Jala, Roti Canai, Nasi Ayam and Satay with condiments.
Diners can also choose drinks like Sirap Selasih, Mango Lassi, ABC, Sirap Bandung, Air Cincau or Teh Tarik to go with their meals.
The buffet will be available from 7pm to 10pm, priced at RM86++ for adults and RM51++ for children under the age of 12 from the first day of Ramadan until Sept 23.
From Sept 24 to the last day of Ramadan, the price for adults is RM95++ and RM59++ for children.
