Khalid says Selangor spent RM6.6mil on overseas trips from 2005 to 2007
THE Selangor state government spent RM6.6mil on overseas trips between 2005 and 2007.
Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the money was spent on a total of 150 trips to various parts of the world including Germany and Korea.
Khalid said the state trade, investment and industries committee topped the list with 45 trips including 14 trips in 2005, 18 in 2006 and the rest in 2007.
Over the period, he said, they had spent RM1.2mil on the trips.
“They have made two visits to Bangkok and other places in China and Dubai,’’ he said in his reply to a written question from Hannah Yeoh (Pakatan-Subang Jaya).
Khalid added that there were not many details on the purpose of the overseas visits.
“We do not have information on why they made so many overseas trips during the period,’’ he said.
