A wedding reception befitting a princess

THE PALACE gates of Istana Alam Shah, Klang, were opened wide as guests streamed in for the royal wedding reception of Tengku Zatashah Idris and Aubry Rahim Mennesson.
Sultan of Selangor Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the father of the bride, hosted the dinner for the newlyweds at the Royal Banquet Hall in the palace.

She is an international corporate communications manager at the L'Oreal headquarters in Paris while her husband is a film producer and entrepreneur.
Among the guests who attended the reception were the Regent of Perak Raja Dr Nazrin Shah, Raja Puan Besar Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo and his wife Datin Seri Zaharah Kechik, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor (wife of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak), state executive councillors and the couple’s relatives.

He described his sister, Tengku Zatashah, as a “funny and hardworking girl” and had the guests in stitches as he recounted some of his most memorable moments with her. Tengku Amir Shah also welcomed Mennesson into the family.
The highlight of the evening was dinner served by personnel from the Royal Malaysian Navy smartly dressed in their sailor uniforms.
Musicians from the Gamelan Diraja Selangor entertained guests at the reception area, while the troupe from the Shah Alam City Council Orchestra played a medley of English and traditional Malay songs during the dinner.
