Four-day fair on interiors

INTERIORS Malaysia 2008, a four-day trade fair, will be held at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, from May 29 to June 1.

The second edition of Interiors Malaysia is presented by the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI).

The event aims at positioning Interior Design as the trend-setting industry for today’s lifestyle.

Local interior design industry professionals and industry partners like developers, real estate owners, contractors and designers will have the opportunity to build new business relationships.

The trade fair’s co-organising chairman, Aminuddin Abdul Manaf, said this year’s conference would present the theme Vision Future, aimed at accelerating the industry to the forefront of economic development.

“By coming together, it will encourage the most progressive local and international design professionals to give their views,” Aminuddin said.

The event will also celebrate World Interiors Day with three major programmes – Interior Landscape Competition, Young Talents Showcase/Award and a student workshop.

Among the speakers are Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili, IFI president Shrikant Nivasarkar, Indonesia's Naning Adiwoso, Joy Gladys from the Philippines, Taiwan's Dr Chang Wei Lung, Eakachart Joneurairatana from Thailand and Green Purchasing Network, Malaysia secretary-general Augustine Koh.
