10,000 attend carnival in Butterworth
MORE than 10,000 people thronged Dataran Pemuda Merdeka in Butterworth to join in the festivities at the Bank Rakyat Carnival 2008 held over the weekend.
The two-day event, jointly organised by Bank Rakyat and Sinar FM radio station, was held with the family concept in mind as.
A host of activities were lined up for visitors.
The event also included games such as tug-of-war, futsal, variety games, fancy and traditional costume contest, a treasure hunt and children’s karaoke competition.
The carnival was also an avenue for the small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to introduce and market their products
The carnival will proceed to Pasir Putih in Kelantan at the end of the month and to Batu Pahat, Johor in July.
Among those present at the carnival were Bank Kerjasama Rakyat (M) Bhd’s general manager (corporate service) Datuk Rosely Samsuri and general manager (human resources) Ahmad Fuad Mohd Amin.
