Students pleasantly surprised by visit
MALACCA: The Malacca Sakti Youth Assiociation had a pleasant surprise during their academic excellence award ceremony when Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Idris Haron showed up to present the awards.
Thirty students who excelled in their respective UPSR, PMR, SPM and STPM examinations over the past two years received their awards.
Idris urged the younger generation to study hard as it is crucial for the building of a better future for themselves and their families.
He said a strong education foundation was vital as it not only offered the opportunity for anyone to be successful in life; but also helped in character building.
Datuk Chandrakant Avalani from the organising committee also took the opportunity to wish Idris a belated birthday by presenting him a birthday cake during the ceremony.
