To soothe the senses

Sunday is a day everyone looks forward to relax and unwind. Here are some activities you can do for your body, mind and spirit balance.

1. Massage treatment

Treat yourself to an aromatherapy massage to ease your body aches, tensed muscles, pain and joint aches. There are a wide range of packages offered at spa centre in the city and major towns to revitalise your body.

2. Doctor Fish

Doctor fish are nibbling fish, Cyprinion macrostomus and Garra rufa, with the latter popularly known as the reddish log sucker. The fish consume the affected and dead areas of the skin, leaving the healthy skin to grow. At Kenko Reflexology and Fish Spa at Pavilion KL, all you have to do is dip your legs in the little fountain and almost immediately, a big shoal of little Garra Rufa dashes over to start their feeding frenzy.

3. Ayurveda

Rejuvenate and restore your vitality by going for an Ayurveda oil therapy. The ancient Indian science of longevity and holistic health system of healing, offers harmony for the whole body and mind. 4. Pebblestone walk

Almost all of the parks have a small or medium-sized pebble stone walk for those who want to get their blood circulation to pump well by walking over the ragged stones. The park in Taman Jaya in Petaling Jaya has one, and it also is a popular place to go fishing. Another beautiful to visit is Taman Aman, where there's about three meters long pebble stone walk for you to try out.

5. Yoga

Yoga, is one unique exercise that deals with the physical and mental health of a person. It helps you become more aware of your body's posture, alignment and patterns of movement. It makes the body more flexible and helps you relax even in the midst of a stress stricken environment. You can start trying at any of the many centres in the city and in major towns.

6. Tai Chi

Tai chi is typically practiced for a variety of reasons: its soft martial techniques, demonstration competitions, health and longevity. There are studies that show Tai chi reduces pain, stress and anxiety in healthy subjects. The Tai chi group at Sea Park gather almost on a daily basis if you want to join a group.

7. Line Dancing

People from all walks of life enjoy a good session of line dancing and you might find it an exciting sort of sport. Line dancing is a formation dance in which a group of people dances in one or more lines, or rows, all facing the same direction and executing the same choreographed movements at the same time. If you're interested, try joining the YMCA or drop by the Tropicana Residence Association as they have regular line dancing sessions.

8. Manicure and pedicure

Every girl has the right to be pampered with beauty products or treatments so if you're considering doing your nails, go right ahead! There is nothing wrong with trying to look good.

9. Foot reflexology

Just sit back and pamper your feet. Bukit Bintang is Kuala Lumpur offers most than just shopping for budget-conscious people. Towards the centre of the road it has many outlets offering foot reflexology.

10. Meditation

Relax and gain back all your energy from work via meditation as it has been proven to reduce stress and pain. It also enhances the harmony of your body, mind and soul. The Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society meets regularly to meditate so don’t miss the golden opportunity to learn Metta Meditation.
