Golfers to compete in Chiangmai
GALI Ladu emerged as the champion in the gross category of the Philips Astro Masters golf championships at the Shan Shui Golf and Country Club in Tawau recently.
Gali, a six-handicapper, shot a 78 to win the title, which came with a golf package to take part in the grand finals in Chiangmai, Thailand, in November.
Well done: Gali (left) receiving his prize from Astro media sales director Anthony Yeap. Besides Gali, Liew Fook Loy, the winner of the A Medal in the championships, also earned a golf package to Chiangmai.
Liew, a nine handicapper, won the A Medal after collecting 38 points. Second was Akkas Lappo on 35 points, while Sallehuddin Muhd Imran was third with 34.
In the B Medal, Celeste Aisien Lo was the winner with 37 points while Fitri Rashid and Mustapha Mapallampang were runner-up and third with 36 points and 34 points respectively.
Bukhari Yahaya won the C Medal by four points. Bukhari, who plays to a 19-handicap, collected 37 points. Lim Lia Boon was second on 33 points while Tan Ah Chu was third with 32.
