Pole dancers wow the crowd

IT was an entertaining Clorets Dark Secret Amateur Pole Dance grand final on Sept 5. The event had the crowd’s attention from the beginning to the end.
With appearances by Mix FM deejay Pietro Felix and singer-songwriter Hannah Tan, the event kicked off with the top 15 semi-finalists’ doing a brief introduction before eight finalists were chosen.
The finalists then took turns to perform their three-minute self choreographed solo routine. They were judged based on technical ability, artistic interpretation and presentation.

The panel of judges were Cadbury Confectionary Malaysia managing director Blair Sailes, Carat Interactive general manager David Ho, Salina & Associates chief executive officer Salina Yeop Junior, McCann-Erickson executive creative director Lee Szu Hung and Viva Vertical consultant and trainer Vivian Lea.
One of the entertaining performance was by contestant Andrew Tan @ Auto. Combining his background in gymnastics and martial arts with weight lifting training, he was able to pull off remarkable stunts that required much strength.
He won the third place and received RM2,000 as well as Celebrity Fitness six-month gym membership worth RM1,500.
The 21-year-old from the One Academy was the first of the finalists to show his stunts.
There was also thunderous applause when contestant Lili Kosin took to the stage.
Looking sultry with a flower in her hair, Kosin, who is a dance instructor danced to her music with grace, making pole dancing look effortless.
It was no wonder when she won the first prize of RM5,000 and Celebrity Fitness one-year membership worth RM3,000.
The second place went to Yee Mer Er @Sam. The dancer exhibited a flexible routine that also captured the crowd’s attention. She won RM3,000 and Celebrity Fitness nine-month gym membership worth RM2,500.
