Activities held to evoke golden memories of Hari Raya
SUNGEI Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur went retro at the launch of Memori Aidilfitri in conjunction with Hari Raya.
The highlight of the opening ceremony saw performances of the twist, ago-go and boogie dances accompanied by various Hari Raya songs from the 60s and 70s.
About 20 senior citizens from Kompleks Penyayang Bakti were also presented with goodie bags and duit raya after breaking fast.
Going back in time: Memori Aidilfitri Dance Showcase by Swatari Dance Troupe. Artistes Aishah, Ramlah Ram, Ramli Sarip, Jay Jay and Ezad Exist entertained guests at the event with their evergreen Hari Raya songs.
The event was jointly organised with Sinar FM, the official radio station and was hosted by announcers Abby Fana and Zaidi.
Sungei Wang’s complex manager, Johar Baki, said the celebration of Hari Raya came with a unique theme each year.
“We chose the Memori Aidilfitri concept as this year’s theme because we want to bring back the golden memories of Aidilfitri,” he said.
“We want to showcase our shoppers a series of colourful dance shows, artistes performances, fun contest and Hari Raya bazaar,” he said.
Local artistes showcases featuring Aishah, Ramlah, Ram, Datuk Ahmad Jais, Roslan Shah, Ziana Zain and Mamat will be held at the Concourse Level at 8pm on Sept 19, 25, 26 and 29.
Patrons can look forward to the Memori Aidilfitri showcase on Sept 20, 21, 27 and 28 and Oct 3, 4 and 5 at the Concourse Level with the Swatari Dance Group.
Thank you: Twenty senior citizens from Kompleks Penyayng Bakti were presented with goodie bags and duit raya after breaking fast at the launch. As part of the programme, the Tiru Gaya Selebriti contest will be held for both children and adults. Shopping vouchers and prize money worth more than RM500 await participants.
There will also be 12 Bazaar Aidilfitri booths offering the latest in fashion, culinary delights and home decorations await shoppers at the shopping complex.
