Durable shoes among prizes up for grabs at Starwalk
By CHRISTINA CHIN
LUCKY participants of Penang Starwalk 2009 will be walking home in Pallas Jazz Star’s latest range of shoes.
The shoes are among RM20,000 worth of Pallas products and apparel which Southern Rubber Works Sdn Bhd is sponsoring for the Dec 13 walk.
“We are also sponsoring 2,000 T-shirts,” Pallas brand executive Lee Eng Pheng said after handing over the sponsorship to The Star’s advertisement sales account executive Nurul Huda Ridzuan recently.
The company, whose core business is the Pallas brand shoes, has been sponsoring the event since 2000. Pallas is one of the main sponsors for this year’s walk.

She said the company would also have a Pallas booth at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) where participants could hunt for great bargains as well as win prizes.
“Just fill up a form and join our ‘Kick & Win’ contest - everyone will definitely get something,” she said.
Penang Starwalk 2009, jointly organised by Star Publications (M) Bhd and the Penang Amateur Athletics Association, is divided into competition and non-competition categories with both covering 10km.
The registration fee is RM8 for non-competition walkers and RM12 for competition walkers. All participants will receive a T-shirt and a goodie bag.
Competition walkers will be flagged off at 7am by Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas from PISA (Jalan Mahsuri) while non-competition walkers will be flagged off at 7.30am from SMK Raja Tun Uda in Jalan Tengah.
Registration is open from 9.15am to 5pm on weekdays, except public holidays, at the Star Northern Hub at 202, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah in Bayan Lepas or the newspaper’s George Town office at 15, Jalan Mesjid Kapitan Keling.
Entry forms can be downloaded from http://thestar.com.my/starwalk. The closing date for entries is Nov 13.
