Wellness treatment, Indonesian style

AFTER months of heightened anticipation, the Dewi Sri Spa by Martha Tilaar opened its doors in a modest ceremony at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa recently.
With its long-awaited arrival in Sepang Utara, the Martha Tilaar brand, made famous in Indonesia by Ibu Martha Tilaar, and the many comforts of the Dewi Sri Spa can now be enjoyed in the south of the Klang Valley.
Putrajaya Marriott gym and spa manager Raja Badariah Raja Hasbullah said the bookings at Dewi Sri Spa were almost back-to-back since its soft launch on Sept 1.

The RM1.5mil spa is on the lower ground floor and boasts seven single massage rooms and a double one for couples.
It includes a facial room with three beds, two small hair salons, a reflexology lounge, sand bath facilities, hydrotherapy tub rooms and a jamu (herbal concoction) bar.
An outdoor villa with three massage rooms, a jamu bar and in-room jacuzzi, taking in the lush landscape and overlooking a serene water-lily pond, will open in mid-2010.

Honouring Ken Dedes, a beautiful queen with flawless skin from the Majapahit Empire of the seventh century, the ritual encompasses a day of pampering with natural lulur (scrub) and steam, a hot oil massage, herbal bath and a unique regime for inner cleansing.
Dewi Sri Spa’s Signature Spa Series, designed to overhaul the total body, is divided into five pampering methods.
The Sensual Series contains rose, jasmine, ylang ylang and sandalwood to relieve tension and renew the spirit. The Relief Series uses jasmine, nutmeg and neroli essential oils to relieve stress and soothe the mind. Peppermint, lemon, cubeb and camphor are used in the Reviving Series to alleviate fatigue and invigorate the body and mind.
The Contour Series promotes skin regeneration and beating cellulite via the use of patchouli, lemon and lavender. The Whitening Series, with lemon and camphor, brightens the complexion and restores skin to its natural glow.
Body treatments span the Dara Putih Aroma, Luluh Malih Warni, Herbal Bath, Traditional Lulur and Ratus range while the massages offered are Traditional, Traditional Aromatherapy, Hand, Shoulder, Back, Leg and Kerokan.
