CHINESE Wanderers, who won the Penang Chinese FA (PCFA) Veterans football tournament last year, will be out to defend the title in this year’s tournament which kicks off tomorrow.
They are among the 10 teams who will be playing in the tournament. Two teams — Anak Malaysia and Pei Teik — return under the new names of Paya Terubong FC and Nibong Tebal United respectively while Chew Si are making their debut.
The other teams are Chinese Recreation Club, Nibong Tebal FA, Youngsters United, Kedah Chinese, Timoran FC, Bintang Baru.

The title holders are pitted in Group B against Chinese Recreation Club, Nibong Tebal FA, Youngsters United and Paya Terubong FC in this year’s meet while the other teams are in Group A.
PCFA secretary Lee Ng Hooi said the increase in the number of teams, from eight last year to 10 this year, reflected the gro-wing popularity of the annual tournament which is into its fourth year.
“After experiencing the biggest turnout last year, we were merely hoping to attract the same number of teams for this year’s event,” Ng Hooi said.
