An Italian affair for Malaysians
POH KONG Jeweller’s (PKJ) Italian affair resulted in a serious relationship with Luca Carati, one of Italy’s oldest and most prestigious luxury jewellers.
PKJ is currently distributing Luca Carati in Malaysia. This year they celebrate the partnership with the official launch of the brand.
The launch was graced by Alessandro Busacca, the ambassador of Italy to Malaysia and guests had a preview of the dazzling 2009 Collection presented by bella donnas.
The list of Luca Carati’s patrons, which include Italy’s Eros Ramazzotti, Hollywood’s Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson, tennis champions Ana Ivanovic (Luca Carati ambassador for 2008-2009) and Roger Federer, who bought some Luca Carati jewellery in Dubai at Burj Al Arab Luca Carati corner for his fiancée.
Luca Carati’s collections identify with nature and classical themes and the metropolitan lifestyle. Nature is conceived from sweetness and enchantment and the warmth of soft wrapping shapes. Metropolis reflects the fast and modern lifestyle with designs rich in graphical style.
These elements are fused with Luca Carati’s strong contemporary taste, forging the most beautiful union between geometry and natural landscape, technique and aesthetic, and tradition with soothed avant-garde.
The classic line is evergreen and places their jewellery as prestigious works of art.
Each Luca Carati piece is created with love for women. The jewellery pieces are designed to communicate emotions and feelings, so that the light and beauty of a jewel may become a lifestyle emblem.
The 2009 Collections suggests a hint of India with images of a mysterious land. The woman in mind is enchanted by the gorgeous nature, culture, perfumes and traditions of this country. She will always carry in her heart the emotions and feelings aroused from the sight of breathless landscapes, vivid colours, lyrics and music dedicated to almost surreal sunsets.
As such, the jewels of the 2009 Collection are designs that will last forever, as it embodies memories of the soul. At the same time, the 2009 style also strictly follows the philosophical identity of Maison Luca Carati (Luca Carati’s house style), which is precise and contemporary, classical and feminine, and drawing inspiration from Nature.
The fascinating 2009 collection feature Bombay Leaves, Mantra, Aria, Décor, Clouds, Bazaar, Monsoon and Leaves.
Bombay Leaves is inspired by the “Paisley” décor, a natural drop-shaped element having its roots in the Persian and Indian region.
The collection comprises of beautiful pieces with sensual and smooth design in white and rose gold with white and brown diamonds to make a perfect chromatic match.
Mantra, a collection named after an Indian mantra, features diamonds hanging in space giving light and energy that are captured in the perfect shape of a circle.
