Matta Fair all set to soar

By CHRISTINA CHIN

VISITORS to the 13th Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair in Penang have a lot to look forward to.

Besides great bargains for both domestic and international destinations, there will be lots of goodie bags (while stocks lasts) and lucky draw prizes to be won at two-hourly intervals.

Up for grabs will be about 40 tickets from Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Silk Air, Air China, China Airlines and Firefly.

The grand prize is a Penang-Hong Kong Cathay Pacific Business Class return ticket. Among the other destinations are Vietnam, China, Indonesia and Thailand.

Over 30 established hotels nationwide are also contributing meals and hotel stay vouchers for the lucky draw prizes. So, remember to fill up the lucky draw forms and drop them into a designated box.

Thanking the airlines for their “great support”, Matta Penang Chap-ter chairman Ann G.H. Tan said there would be special packages, ticket deals and hotel stays for domestic and international destinations which could only be purchased at the fair.

“This is definitely the best time to make your travel arrangements be-cause the packages are really value-for-money.

“In addition, we have secured many sponsors who will be giving away their products in the goodie bags,” she said.

The annual fair will be held at the Penang International Sports Arena from 5pm to 9pm tomorrow and 10am to 9pm this weekend.

There will be a total of 274 booths with 83 exhibitors.

Fourteen local and regional tourism offices, namely Tourism Malaysia, Penang Global Tourism, Hong Kong Tourism, India Tourism, Jogjakarta Tourism, Korea Tourism, Macau Tour-ism, Sabah Tourism, Taiwan Visitors Association, Tourism Australia, Pa-hang Tourism, Kedah Tourism, Tour-ism Authority of Thailand and Mu-nich Tourism Germany, will also be present.

For the first time, the Malaysia Association of Hotels (Penang Chapter) will be among the participants.
