TGV Cinemas opens at Mesra Mall

KUALA TERENGGANU: Gone are the days when movie buffs here would have to make exhausting trips outstation just to watch their favourite flicks.
Thanks to TGV Cinemas, a long-awaited multiplex, with 780 seats, was made available recently for Terengganu folks at the Mesra Mall shopping complex in Kerteh, Kemaman.
The multiplex is the first of its kind here situated inside the RM100mil mall managed by Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd to cater for shoppers need in the oil-town of Kerteh.
Movie buffs can watch latest blockbusters at the multiplex under a cosy ambience with spacious legroom.
TGV has also designed the multiplex using contemporary motifs considering that majority of cinemagoers here who are mainly youths.
The multiplex is also disabled-friendly as roomy seats, specially designed lavatories and exclusive lanes from the shopping complex to the cinema are made available for the handicapped.
Student Noor Diyannah Yusof, 20, from Kuala Terengganu said she was the first person to celebrate the opening of the multiplex here.
“All this while we had to travel to either Kuantan or Kuala Lumpur just to catch up with latest blockbusters,” she said.
Noor Diyannah felt that is more economical for movie buffs with the existence of multiplex in Terengganu as time and money could be saved on transportation to catch a movie in Kuantan, Pahang.
“It’s cool to have a multiplex here and we keep patronising it every weekend although the drive from here is time-consuming,” she said..
Restaurateur, S.Guna, 28 from Tanjung in Kuala Terengganu who previously use to drive for three hours to watch movies in Komplex Teruntum in Kuantan, described the opening of the multiplex here as a great relieve for Terengganu folks.
“Its often a tiring drive from here to Kuantan but it is all over now with a cinema at our own turf,” he said.
Guna hoped that the new cinema in Kerteh would screen the latest Rajini Kanth movie Enthiran.
“You will be surprised to know that many Japanese and European tourists patronising my restaurant would ask me where they could watch Enthiran here,” he added.
