Big bikers team up with food outlet to treat old folks
KUCHING: Besides a high-powered motorcycle and a leather jacket, a big heart is needed to ride with big bikers of Kuching as they are big on charity.
These bike owners teamed up with Sugarbun recently in a community project to treat 86 senior citizens and 29 staff members of Rumah Seri Kenangan here.
The residents were treated to a Sugarbun meal and entertained to a lion dance in conjunction with the Chinese New Year.
Festive mood: A resident of Rumah Sri Kenangan patting the lion during the recent gathering in Kuching. The Kuching Big Bikers Club headed by Kamil Misuari gave out ang pows to the residents as a gesture of sharing and goodwill.
“We wanted to do something for Rumah Seri Kenangan as we felt it was a home that many tended to overlook,” said Kamil.
He said the club had mapped out a list of activities involving charity work for the year.
After Chinese New Year, we plan a charity biking expedition, he added.
Sugarbun marketing manager Clara Chan said she hoped the gesture would bring cheer to the old folks.
