THE sweltering heat did not deter the more than 600 special invited guests to enjoy some fun and frolic – both on and off the track – at the Sepang International circuit.
The one-day family event which included loyal customers, business partners and the media, was held in conjunction with the Petronas Dagangan Bhd’s (PDB) unveiling of the country’s first mobile fuel dispenser at the Formula 1 Track and in celebrating the success of the Primax fuels.
The Petronas Primax Mobile Fuel Dispenser will enable race cars within the circuit to be fuelled by the Petronas high-powered Primax fuels right on the track.
New dispenser: Amir using the country’s first mobile fuel dispenser to fill up a vehicle with the newly launched Primax fuels at the F1 track. Looking on is Sepang International Circuit chairman Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir. The event, aptly named Petronas Xtrack, comprised all the “extra” pleasures that the guests enjoyed at the F1 track which included a two-round grueling taxi-ride on the fast tracks in race cars, F1 simulators, pocket-bikes, drift experience and go-kart and a massage after all the hard days work in the heat.
“Today’s event marks yet another achievement for PDB as the Petronas Primax fuel has made its name on the F1 race track globally, including here at the SIC. We want to share the success with you,” said PDB managing director/chief executive officer Amir Hamzah Azizan.
He said Petronas’ partnership with the F1 teams over the years have resulted in a solid team of fuel technology experts at PDB, who have from developing fuel for the race track, has now translated that technology on the road for the benefit of Malaysian customers.
The one-day event saw guests along with their families forming a long queue for the taxi-ride, surely the crowd-puller for the day, where they got to experience real racing around the race track and then adding to the excitement with a drifting experience and racing simulators. The younger ones went for the pocket bikes and go-karts.
The activities like drifting, pocket bikes, go-kart and taxi-rides were fuelled by Petronas Primax fuel, thus allowing riders to experience the superior quality of its fuels on the tracks.
All the guests enjoyed the events thoroughly, and for most, it was the first time on any of the activities and they will have a load of stories to share with other members of the family of their unique experience.
