TWO new identical road signs along Persiaran Dato Shamsuddin Naim, Kuala Lumpur heading toward Jalan Taman Bukit Maluri is causing confusion among the public.
Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng said the road signs erected about two weeks ago were not only giving the wrong directions but were also unnecessary.
“The road signs indicate that motorist need to turn left to Pusat Bandaraya, Kepong, Kepong Baru and Desa Park City, when actually it should be to the right. Similarly, the road sign also indicates that motorists going toward Taman Bukit Maluri, Sungai Buloh and Kuala Selangor need to turn right instead of left.
“To make matters worse, the second road sign is only about 200 m away along the same stretch. The road signs are not necessary as the there is already a road sign at the T-junction at the end of road, indicating the correct directions
“I have forwarded the complaints to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). I hope DBKL will rectify the mistake quickly so as not to confuse more motorists, especially those unfamiliar with the area,” he said.
