DJ MAG Asia Tour with Timo Garcia (UK). Anyone tapped into the pulse or keeping score of modern electronic music has probably heard of Timo Garcia. Straddling the fine line between underground darling and big room, big tune dance floor arsonist, his numerous releases on the circuit’s biggest and best labels have been well documented.

In a world where DJs and producers are ten-a-penny and the hype machines peddle mediocrity as if it were something special, it can be difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. As such, the currency de jour is consistency and recommendations.

Garcia’s infamy has spread among the label bosses who set the trends and create the future-heroes of our worlds.

Yoshitoshi, OFF Recordings, Skint, Southern Fried, 303 Lovers, Nervous, Audio Therapy, Dieb Audio, Cr2 & Toolroom are just some of the world-famous imprints who have clamoured to get a piece of Timo’s brilliance.

Last summer saw him play the main stage at London’s biggest dance music festival — South West Four — as well as headlining festival stages from Brazil to India; but this is a man who has both a dedication and a love for his craft and this is something that he exudes, whether behind the decks or in the studio. NSFW presents TIGA (Turbo Recordings / CA). This DJ and producer from Montreal needs no introduction, Tiga is definitely one of Canada’s best exports.

In the 1990s, he pioneered the rave scene in Canada and started his own label, Turbo Recordings which has released over 20 albums. His album Sexor won the 2007 Juno Award for Dance Recording of the Year and his song 3 Weeks has received repeated airplay in night clubs.

Tiga is well known for his awesome remixes, such as Tomas Andersson’s Washing Up, Scissor Sisters’ Comfortably Numb and Felix da Houscat’s Madame Hollywood.

The track Shoes from his second album Ciao! premiered on his myspace page to more than 10,000 plays in its first day.

Also notable is his cover of Nelly’s Hot in Herre, which was a massive success, that lead to it being licensed in the UK, and also his rendition of Corey Hart’s Sunglasses at Night that made him an international frenzy in electronic music.
