TNB burn victim dies from injuries
GEORGE TOWN: The Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) sub-contractor worker, who was seriously injured during a blast at a substation here, has succumbed to his injuries.
Mohd Zaini Abdul Hamid, 43, was pronounced dead at about 5.15pm on Tuesday. Family members claimed his body from the Penang Hospital mortuary yesterday.
On Sunday, Mohd Zaini suffered 90% burns on his body after an explosion occurred while he was carrying out repairs on a switchgear at the substation on Jalan Kuala Kangsar here with eight colleagues.
The blast caused a blackout in parts of the town here. No one else was injured.
