Treasure hunt for kids
MORE than RM30,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs at the upcoming KFCH Edu-Fun Kids Treasure Hunt from Edu-Fun and its co-sponsors KFC (Peninsular Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, MPH Bookstore, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, MBO Cinema, Gloria Jean’s Coffee, Genting Theme Park, Syarikat Prasarana Negara (Rapid KL) and Discovery House.
The hunt, to be held on July 7 from 8am to 1.30pm, will see over 160 children aged between five and 12 taking part in an Amazing Race- styled treasure hunt to be held at the Subang Parade Shopping Centre.
There will be two categories for this hunt: Junior (ages five to eight years old) and Senior (ages nine to 12 years old).
Fun for kids: A file picture of the previous KFCH Edu-Fun treasure hunt. Entry fee for a team of two is RM100 for the Junior category and RM120 for the Senior category.
The fee is also inclusive of breakfast, lunch and goodie bag for each participant.
The teams will be sorted by the organiser.
The maximum number of persons per team is two and participants are encouraged to sign up as a team.
Attractive prizes await winners with the first to fifth placed teams receiving prizes worth RM5,000, RM4,000, RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1,500 respectively.
The concept of the race will see children needing to solve the mystery of the missing crystals.
To find the crystals, they will be given questions, clues and a map which will take them all over the shopping centre in order to get the next clue.
Once all the questions have been answered, the first team from each category to reach the finish line will win the race.
Parents and children who are interested to join the treasure hunt can register from now till July 5 when registration closes or once the maximum numbers of teams have been reached (whichever comes first).
Fun with mascots: The KFC mascots posing with a few young participants during a previous treasure hunt. This is the third treasure hunt to be organised by the Edu-Fun unit after the success of their first two hunts in 2011 and one in 2012.
Another treasure hunt is expected to be held before the year end.
“To-date, we have had two very successful hunts. We look forward to this hunt as it promises more great prizes and most importantly a great time learning and discovering!” said KFC Events Sdn Bhd general manager Rosita Abu Bakar.
“The objective of the hunt is to provide a wonderful opportunity for children to have an enriching learning experience and at the same time enjoy it! The hunt is also specifically crafted with activities that will motivate children to express themselves, stimulate curiosity, imagination and sharpen their problem solving skills,” she added.
