I LOVE you daddy and Happy Father’s Day” was the heart-warming wishes by brothers Budriz and Mudriz for their father, Rudy Putra, 39, when they were watching football a match last night.
The businessman was taken by surprise at their fond gesture as he narrated his memorable experience during a photo shoot session in the “Hug Hug Daddy” event held in the Selayang Tesco Extra.
The event, organised by Gerakan in conjunction of Father’s Day was for families to have a photo session with the children hugging their father.
National Gerakan Youth secretary-general Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai said nowadays fathers were too caught up with work and spending less time with the children.
Blowing kisses: Yew’s two-year-old son planting a kiss on his cheek. “These days, fathers have been taken up a lot of roles and it is difficult for them to balance the time for their families. I also see that children are more keen in expressing love towards mothers but shied away when it comes to their dad,” he said.
This event is catered specially for dads because they should also enjoy well deserved hugs from their children,” he added.
The event had attracted families to participate in the event and they were seen making a beeline for the photo shoot.
“The photos will be printed and framed. It will be given for the families to commemorate this year’s Father’s Day,” he said.
All in the family: Rudy Putra sharing a light moment with his family as they look at the photo taken from the shoot during the “Hug Hug Daddy” event. It was a more meaningful day for Malaysian Aids Council director Parimelazhagan Ellan, 41, who planned to celebrate Father’s Day with his family by holding a gathering at home.
“Father’s Day is not just a day for me but also for all family members where we get together, love and support each other. I believe a good family institution is essential to overcome the challenges of the complex social issues,” he said.
Businessman Yew Chen Tong, 38, was equally overjoyed when his two-year-old son planted a kiss on his cheek and hugged him during the photo session.
“We plan to spend the night dining with my family and in-laws at a posh restaurant. I would also like to wish all the fathers out there, Happy Father’s Day,” he said.
